KUCHING, July 1: A man was found dead in a roadside drain after he was reportedly thrown from his vehicle following a road traffic accident at Kampung Sinar Baru along Jalan Puncak Borneo this afternoon.

Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Siburan responded to the emergency at 2.07pm and swiftly mobilised a team of firefighters to the scene, located about 20 kilometres away.

Operations commander PBK I Rafiq Hussain confirmed that the male victim was discovered inside a drain beside the road upon their arrival.

“The victim is believed to have been involved in a road traffic accident and was thrown into the drain. He was already deceased when we arrived at the scene,” he said.

He added that firefighters subsequently retrieved the body from the drain before handing over the remains to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) for further investigation.

The operation was brought under control at 2.45pm and officially concluded at 2.50pm. — DayakDaily
