Record breaking high of 1,216 Covid-19 positive cases in Sarawak today

KUCHING, Aug 12: Sarawak has reported the highest recorded number of 1,216 Covid-19 positive cases today since the first case came to light on March 13, 2020.

The figure was revealed by the Health Ministry just minutes ago, where almost all states and regions in Malaysia showed an upward trend.


Selangor continued to top all states and regions with 6,278 cases, to be followed by Kuala Lumpur with 2,436 cases.

Kedah also reported a high number of cases with 2,143, followed by Sabah with 2,052 cases and Johore with 1,706 positive cases.

Sarawak’s 1,216 cases has put the region in the seventh place after Penang’s 1,229 cases.

Perlis has a low count of 23 cases while Putrajaya has 56. Likewise, Labuan has a low number with 11 cases.

Other states such as Perak, Melaka, Kelantan, Terengganu, Negeri Sembilan and Pahang all registered triple-digit cases. — DayakDaily
