KUCHING, May 7: Four districts in Sarawak are expected to experience thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds until 3pm today.
In an advisory notice issued at 11.55am today, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia) said the affected areas are Mukah (Dalat and Mukah), Bintulu (Tatau and Bintulu), Miri (Subis, Miri, and Marudi), and Limbang.
A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with rain intensity exceeding 20 mm/hour that is close to or expected to occur for more than an hour.
A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single issue. — DayakDaily
