KUCHING, Apr 22: Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (Pusaka) and its subsidiary companies have donated RM286,000 to 62 charitable bodies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan officiated at the ceremony and handed over the contributions during a presentation ceremony held at Wisma Sumber Alam today.
Awang Tengah, who is also the Second Minister of Natural Resources and Urban Development, said that today’s event had been an annual activity for Pusaka and its subsidiaries since 1982 to help the less fortunate.
“The event is also in line with the State government’s efforts to create a caring society among corporate bodies to carry out corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities for the community,” he said.
Also present during the event were Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Urban Development Datu Len Talif Salleh, permanent secretary to the Ministry of Urban Development and Natural Resources Datu Zaidi Mahdi, Pusaka board of management member Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais, and Pusaka general manager Datu Hashim Bojet. — DayakDaily
