KUCHING, Nov 11: Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin has set aside RM200,000 to upgrade Kpg Emperoh Jambu Community Hall.

He said the allocation will be disbursed next year under the second phase of the project to build the stage, adding that the project will be fully completed under the third phase.

At the moment, the hall is without walls and dyage, with only the roofing completed.

Additionally, Willie also allocated another RM30,000 for the installation of air-conditioning units for St Mary Catholic Church in the village, which he said will come in February next year.

“I will always priotise my focus when it comes to helping places of worship, education and the welfare of the people in my constituency,” Willie said at the opening of Kpg Emperoh Jambu weekly bazaar, held at the Community Hall today.

Willie also said he will help with the People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela) in the village to help look after security in the village.

Lately, thefts like water meter theft have been quite frequent in the village, and this was highlighted by the village chief Boniface Lasek.

He also hoped that the people in Puncak Borneo will continue to support him to voice out the problems in Parliament.

“Without the support from you people, I will not be able to voice out the many problems faced by our Bidayuh community and other communities in the area,” he stressed.

Present at the ceremony was Penghulu Richard Daho Sanjok. — DayakDaily
