KUCHING, Feb 7: Sarawak Research and Development Council (SRDC), its subsidiary Sarawak Infectious Disease Centre (SIDC), and the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) Blood Bank will jointly organise a blood donation campaign on Feb 21 (Tuesday).

The blood drive is open to the public from 9am to 1pm at the SRDC headquarters on Jalan Datuk Abang Abdul Rahim (the former Hap Seng Star Mercedes Benz showroom, behind Kingwood Hotel, and opposite Hock Lee Centre).

According to a statement released by SRDC, the event is organised as part of its corporate social responsibility to the community, with the goal of raising public awareness about the importance of blood donation in saving lives.

“This blood donation campaign is held to help the SGH Blood Bank provide a safe and constant supply of blood to patients in need.

“This cooperation is one of the social responsibilities of SRDC members in community service activities in addition to making the blood donation culture a healthy practice,” a blood bank representative said in the statement.

The organisers are hoping for a positive response from the public to this event.
