KUCHING, Aug 20: “As for now, we still see them (Parti Sarawak Bersatu) as outsiders,” says Parti Rakyat Sarawak Youth chief Dato Snowdan Lawan.
Snowdan said the merger between Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) and Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) is their own business.
“We do not know about it and I heard it is sometime in December.
“So it has yet to materialised. We will see what is going to happen or what comes next,” he told reporters when met after officiating at the closing ceremony for Asian Association for Sport Management (AASM) Conference 2023 held at a hotel here today.
Snowdan was asked to comment on the political merger between PDP and PSB which was revealed by PDP president Dato Sri Tiong King Sing yesterday.
“I can’t really speak on it because I have my own house which is PRS.
“But as was mentioned in our GPS (Gabungan Parti Sarawak) meeting previously, they are still outside of GPS,” he added.
Asked if PSB will be welcomed into the coalition in the future, Snowdan said it is entirely up to the GPS Supreme Council to decide.
“I am one of the members. But then, we will see about it because it has to be brought to the roundtable to be discussed if there is anything.
“This is only ‘if’. (For) now it is premature to talk about that and we do not want to speculate on the matter because this only happened between these two parties, and does not involve GPS,” he said. — DayakDaily
