SERIAN, Oct 26: Borneo Empurau Farm & Resort’s achievement as Sarawak’s first tourism product to receive Platinum recognition under the Malaysia Tourism Quality Assurance (MyTQA) programme has drawn pride from incumbent Tarat assemblyman Datuk Roland Sagah, while at the same time, setting a new benchmark for the State’s tourism sector.

As the caretaker Minister for Education, Innovation, and Talent Development, Sagah said he was especially proud that the award-winning tourism attraction was located in his constituency, marking a milestone for the area’s tourism potential.

“I am very proud that Borneo Empurau Farm & Resort was given the recognition by MyTQA. It is the only one in Sarawak, and of course, I am also proud because it is in my area.

“Actually, we purposely keep this one a secret,” he told reporters after the symbolic handover ceremony of the Sarawak Science Kits (KITSS) and Discover PETRONAS @ School at Borneo Empurau Farm & Resort, here today.

Borneo Empurau Farm & Resort became the first tourism product in Sarawak to attain the highest tier under MyTQA.

The Platinum recognition places the resort among only 30 tourism products nationwide to achieve the programme’s highest rating, highlighting its standing in terms of tourism product quality, facilities, and service standards.

The achievement also puts Sarawak on the map for tourism products that meet high-quality standards and deliver reliable experiences for domestic and international visitors. —DayakDaily
