“Previously, there were three state constituencies under Bandar Kuching, namely N9 Padungan, N10 Pending and N11 Batu Lintang.

“Under the proposal, a new constituency, N16 Tabuan Jaya, has been created,” he told reporters while viewing the official EC display at the MBKS headquarters today.

According to the proposed boundary map, N16 Tabuan Jaya comprises the areas of Tabuan Jaya, Tabuan Laru, Stutong, Tabuan Heights, Supreme and Kenyalang.

Wee said the public display forms part of the official process for Sarawak’s electoral redelineation exercise and urged residents to take the opportunity to review the proposals and submit feedback.

“The display will be open at the MBKS headquarters lobby for a month, allowing members of the public to view the proposed boundaries and submit comments or objections.

“We appeal to the public to come and view the proposal. This is a process that Sarawak needs to go through in the redelineation of electoral boundaries,” he said.

He added that the display was intended to ensure transparency and help voters understand how constituency boundaries are being adjusted under the proposed exercise.

“Whatever comments emerge from this process, we have yet to know. However, the display has been set up to ensure transparency, allowing the public to clearly see the voters and areas under each constituency, as well as how the new constituency has been created,” he said.
