KUCHING, March 13: Residents in Sibu would have to endure a prolonged water disruption as a second leak was found in the 24” mild steel main pipeline along Jalan Dr Wong Soon Kai/Jalan Oya and Jalan Oya across the Sacred Heart Vocational School.
According to Dudong assemblyman Dato Seri Tiong King Sing, after completing the first water pipe repair work at 10pm yesterday (March 12), authorities have found a second leak in another part of the same water pipe.
“Therefore, the authorities have cut off water supply again at 8pm last night for repair work to take place.
“I would like to remind all the affected residents to save water for daily use during this temporary period,” said Tiong in his Facebook post yesterday.
The affected areas are Jln Upper Lanang to Tg Kunyit, Jln Lanang, Jln Tekam, Jln Kpg Nyabor, Jln Keranji, Jln Brooke Drive, Jln Brother Albinus, Jln Dr Wong Soon Kai, Lrg No. 13, Jln Tiong Hua, Jln Hua Kiew, Jln Delta, Kpg Hilir, Kpg Nangka, Deshon Booster Station (Jln Apollo, Jln Lilin, Jln Sg Merah, Jln Kuang, Lrg Ulu Sg Merah 1, 2, 8, 29 and 31, Jln Kwong Ann, Jln Teng Chin Hua, Jln Old Airport, Jln Ding Lik Kong, Jln Teku Lama, and Jln Teku Barat, Jln Disa, Jln Wawasan, IPD Polis Sg Merah).
This also includes the surrounding areas in Teku Booster Station (Jln Quarry, Jln Indah, Jln Miden, Jln Setia, Jln Serai, Jln Tebu, Jln Teku, Jln Rantau Panjang, Jln Rantau Panjang Jaya, Jln Teku Pasai), Sg Maaw, and the Sibu West Booster Station (Jln Empawah and Bawang Assan). ― DayakDaily
