KUCHING, Dec 1: A premix plant in a factory along Jalan Airport Lama in Mile 7 was partially destroyed in a fire today.
According to a report from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre, they received a call regarding the incident at 10.07am and deployed firefighters from Bomba Batu Lintang to the location.
The operations commander reported that in the incident, the plant, located outside of the main factory, was 60 per cent destroyed by the fire.
The factory Emergency Response Team (ERT) took initial action to extinguish the fire before the arrival of firefighters, who later proceeded with their operation and doused the flame.
The operation ended at 12pm after ensuring that the situation was under control and no casualties were reported.
The cause of the fire, including the value of loss incurred, is still under investigation. — DayakDaily
