KUCHING, Aug 15: All business premises and offices which are found to be at high risk of Covid-19 infection will be ordered to close for sanitisation while close contacts are urged to undergo the swab test and abide by the quarantine order.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement said as of today six factories, one kindergarten, one eatery and one supermarket in Kuching were ordered to close for 14 days under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases 1988 (Act 342) after being identified to have high risk of coronavirus transmission in workplaces.

The committee added that there were premises which voluntarily closed during the surveillance conducted by the Kuching Division Health Office (PKBK).

On the other hand, SDMC said there were 510 new cases of coronavirus cases reported in Kuching.

The committee explained that the high number of new cases identified in the city were due to active case detection (ACD) conducted by the PKBK among close contacts as well as targeted screenings at the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) areas and workplaces. — DayakDaily
