KUCHING, Dec 3: A total of 147 recipients were conferred the Sarawak awards and honours today in an investiture ceremony officiated by Head of Sarawak Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, at the Dewan Besar, Astana Negeri Sarawak, Petra Jaya.
Among the prominent recipients was the Sarawak Premier private secretary, Ahmad Hazlan Ismawi, who was the only recipient awarded the Johan Bintang Kenyalang (J.B.K).
The award was followed by the Public Administration Service Medal, the Pingat Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (P.P.C), also to the sole recipient to the Deputy General Manager of the Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC), Rakayah Hamdan.
For the Medal of Courage, Pingat Pangkuan Negara (P.P.N) (Bronze), 10 recipients were awarded, led by Ali Amit, Bulit Jimbun, Fauzil Taril, Jengga Jeli, Keliment Nyapong, Linus Lunsong Jati, Ukoon Pungkok, Louis Dundang, Lieutenant Colonel Mohd Melintang Abdullah, and Zainuddin @ Sharkawi Dawi.
Meanwhile, six recipients were conferred upon the Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (P.B.S), with Professor Ir. Dr. Siti Noor Linda Taib, followed by Dr Azizah Mohamed Amin, Professor Ts.Dr Wan Azlan Wan Zainal Abidin, Temenggong Gee Ah Chok, Temenggong Kurh Aik Seng, and Mohamad Haffizie Putit.
Additionally, 19 recipients received the Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (P.B.K), including the Sibu district police chief Zulkipli Suhaili and assistant rector of MARA University of Technology (UiTM) Samarahan Campus 2, Prof. Associate Dr Abdul Razak Abdul Kadir.
The ceremony also saw 20 recipients honoured with the Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (P.P.B), with Abu Bakar Sham Jamil leading the list, followed by 19 others.
The ceremony went on with the awarding of the Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak Ahli Bintang Sarawak (A.B.S) to 27 recipients, while 17 received the Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (A.B.K).
In the meantime, a total of 25 were conferred the Pingat Perkhidmata Terpuji (P.P.T), while 21 recipients received the Bentara Bintang Sarawak (B.B.S), led by Ambrose Gibson Kunding, Fabian Kuntang, and Ijau Lang.
Also present at the ceremony were Wan Junaidi’s wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, Deputy Minister of Utility Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, Deputy Minister at the Premier’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya, Deputy Minister of Utilities and Telecommunications Sarawak Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, Deputy Sarawak Secretary (Administration) Datu Buckland Bangik, along with other distinguished guests. — DayakDaily
