Premier witnesses appointment of DBKU Commission Members for 2025-2028 term

KUCHING, May 26: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg witnessed the appointment ceremony of the Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) Commission Members whose terms are from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2028, at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUS) building today.

According to the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), the ceremony acted as a platform to introduce and acknowledge the appointment of the new Commission Members who will contribute to the strategic development and management of DBKU.

This appointment is also in line with DBKU’s aspirations to strengthen governance that is inclusive, transparent, and responsive to the needs of the community.

The following individuals have been appointed for the new term:

  • Sarawak Attorney-General, Dato Sri Saferi Ali
  • Sarawak Financial Secretary, Dato Sri Dr Wan Lizozman Wan Omar
  • Sarawak Deputy Secretary (Economic Planning and Development), Dato Sri Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel
  • Sarawak Land and Survey Department director, Awang Zamhari Awang Mahmood
  • Sarawak Public Works Department director, Dr Cassidy Morris
  • Sih Hua Tong
  • Ir.Talhah@Talha Affendi
  • Abdul Baderi Sahmat
  • Iskandar Sharkawi
  • Abdul Adzim Adzmi Abdul Rahman

DBKU Commission Members will play an essential role as a bridge between the community and the city administration, formulating policies, and ensuring the participation of the people in aspects of the city’s physical and socio-economic development.

Meanwhile, DBKU also congratulated all those appointed and hoped that the cooperation of all parties would strengthen progressive, sustainable, and prosperous development efforts for the well-being of the people of North Kuching.
