Premier, wife present Hari Raya donations totaling RM19,500 to 130 asnaf recipients, orphans from Darul Hana housing area

KUCHING, March 20: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and his wife, Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang presented Hari Raya Aidilfitri donations totaling RM19,500 to 130 ‘asnaf’ (less fortunate) recipients and orphans from 13 villages in the Darul Hana Housing Project area.

A press handout revealed each recipient received RM150 to alleviate their financial strain during the holy month of Ramadan and assist them in their preparations for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.


This took place during ‘Majlis Iftar Darul Hana 2024’ organised by Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA) this evening at a hotel here.

The annual programme aims to strengthen community bonds and provide assistance to Darul Hana Housing Project residents.

Furthermore, LCDA Holdings Sdn Bhd chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Abdul Aziz Dato Husain presented ‘Zakat Perniagaan’ for the year 2023, amounting to RM1,910,187.26, to Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak (TBS) which was represented by TBS deputy general manager Bolhassan Iskandar Taibi.

Around 500 guests, including LCDA employees, community leaders of Kampung Seberang Hilir, heads of various departments and agencies, media representatives, and other stakeholders involved in the Darul Hana development project, attended the event.

After breaking fast, Abang Johari joined other Muslims in performing the Maghrib, Isya, and Tarawih prayers.

There were also Nasyid performances and Ramadan zikir recitations.

The event was attended by various dignitaries and officials, including Utility and Telecommunications (MUT) Sarawak Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi. — DayakDaily
