Premier to meet with Cambodian Prime Minister on Dec 7 to boost ties with country

KUCHING, Dec 6: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg is scheduled to meet with the Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet during a work visit on Dec 7 to enhance cooperation between Cambodia and Malaysia, particularly with Sarawak.

According to Abang Johari, who is also President of the Regional Islamic Da’wah Council of Southeast Asia & the Pacific (RISEAP), he will be attending the 20th RISEAP General Assembly there.

Meanwhile, when met by media on Dec 5, RISEAP’s Honorary Secretary, Dato Mohamad Marzuki Mohamad Omar, highlighted the organisation’s ongoing efforts to empower the Muslim community by shaping a resilient and successful way of life.

He said that the main purpose of Premier’s visit to Cambodia is also to observe firsthand the lives of the Muslim community, which has long been established in this country and numbers approximately 700,000 people. — DayakDaily
