Premier to inaugurate Muara Lassa bridge on Feb 22, celebrating Daro’s 51st anniversary

DARO, Feb 4: The Muara Lassa bridge, a new landmark for Daro, will be officially inaugurated by the Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg on Feb 22.

According to Information Department (Japen) Sarawak, this announcement was made by Daro assemblyman Safiee Ahmad during the coordination meeting for the official opening of the Muara Lassa bridge at the Daro District Office this morning.

He emphasised that the opening of the bridge holds extra significance, as it coincides with the 51st anniversary of the establishment of Daro District.

During the event, the Premier will also officiate the Daro District’s Community-Based Rehabilitation Centre (PDK) and attend the launch of the new Daro Waterfront development.

He further noted that the bridge, which opened to the public on Jan 9, significantly improves accessibility for residents, particularly those from Pulau Bruit and the mainland of Daro, who are no longer reliant on ferry services.

“The government’s commitment and the efforts of local leaders to enhance the well-being of rural communities are evident in the construction of various infrastructures, which will have long-lasting positive impacts on the local population,” he said.

Also present at the meeting were Mukah Division Resident Datu Kueh Lei Poh, along with department heads and other relevant agencies. — DayakDaily
