KUCHING, July 2: Sarawak will take centre stage at the upcoming World Hydrogen Asia 2025 in Tokyo, Japan with Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg set to headline the international conference as a keynote speaker and panelist.
The event, which runs from July 8 to 10, will bring together global hydrogen leaders to accelerate Asia’s transition towards a clean hydrogen economy.
According to a press statement released by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), the Sarawak Premier is scheduled to deliver a keynote address titled ‘Sarawak’s Hydrogen Vision: Catalysing Green Growth for ASEAN and Beyond’.
His speech will highlight the State’s leadership in pioneering the hydrogen economy in Southeast Asia, particularly through the recent launch of the Sarawak Hydrogen Economy Roadmap.
The address is expected to outline Sarawak’s integrated strategy for renewable energy development, highlight its commitment to public-private partnerships, and ongoing investments in hydrogen technology, from green mobility to export readiness.
Abang Johari’s participation at the Tokyo conference underscores the growing global recognition of Sarawak’s role in shaping Asia’s clean energy future.
The World Hydrogen Asia 2025 is part of the global World Hydrogen Series, which convenes policymakers, investors, and industry leaders to chart the future of hydrogen deployment across regional and global supply chains. – DayakDaily
