KUCHING, April 1: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) will hold three conventions in conjunction with the 60th anniversary of Sarawak’s Independence, says Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

He said the convention would be conducted in three zones — southern, central and northern zones, but he did not reveal the dates.

“The convention aims to update our members on what we have achieved and to inform them on our future’s direction in terms of economy, social, and implementation of the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 because Sarawak’s economy has shifted to the new economy and there are also new sectors that may not exist elsewhere but will be implemented in Sarawak.

“Thus, we have to update our members since it involves advanced technologies, including the part where I have promised to announce one technology produced by Sarawak that will change her economic dimensions and maybe in other areas of the world,” he said in a press conference after chairing the PBB Supreme Council Meeting at its headquarters today.

Abang Johari, also PBB president, further hopes that Sarawak can continue her development with the new approach and cooperation from the federal Unity Government, and the benefits will flow to the people.

Amongst those present were PBB deputy president Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, deputy president Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, senior vice president Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof, senior vice president Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom, vice president Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, vice president Datuk Julaihi Narawi, and permanent chairman Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar. — DayakDaily
