KUCHING, Sept 30: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has officiated the Sarawak Sovereign Wealth Future Fund (SSWFF) satellite office at Menara Affin @ TRX in Kuala Lumpur on Monday (Sept 29).
According to a post from the Premier’s Facebook page, this was followed by a meeting with the SSWFF Board of Guardians.
The delegation was led by chairman Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Sulong Matjeraie, along with members Datuk Lain John Lo, Tan Sri Ahmad Nizam Salleh, Datu Soedirman Aini, as well as its Investment Advisory Panel chairman Tan Sri Shahril Ridza Riduan and chief executive officer Abang Rahmat Yusuf.
In November 2022, the Sarawak Sovereign Wealth Future Fund Board Ordinance 2022 was passed by the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUS).
Meanwhile, Abang Johari also chaired a special meeting of the Muslim Welfare Organisation of Malaysia (PERKIM), of which he is the president.
The objective of the meeting was to reinforce the organisation’s strategic direction through transparent governance, collective responsibility, and coherent policy coordination, ensuring the continued effectiveness of dakwah efforts and the long-term sustainability of the Islamic mission in Malaysia.
Also present during the meeting were vice presidents Dato Seri Dr Shahidan Kassim, Dr Mohd Riduan Tee Abdullah, Datuk Mohd Nakhaie Ahmad, and Ustaz Mohamad Fitri Abdullah; honorary secretary-general Dato Dr Mohamad Marzuki Mohamad Omar, and honorary treasurer Datu Mersal Abang Rosli. — DayakDaily
