KUCHING, Sept 30: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg lauds the new Marudi Waterfront’s design better than the Kuching Waterfront.
Abang Johari said with a hotel built nearby, the waterfront is also built to connect to the nearby village.
“With the historical Fort Hose located in the centre, the more than 1-kilometre waterfront is also longer than Kuching Waterfront,” he said when launching the Baram Regatta 2023 held at Marudi Square streamed live via Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) Facebook page today.
Meanwhile, Abang Johari said a shared laboratory will be built in Marudi to enable students to study science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
He also said that he had made a complaint about the matter to the Ministry of Education (MOE) regarding the lack of laboratories in schools throughout the State.
“A lot of schools throughout the State do not have a laboratory. Sarawak government will build a shared lab among schools in every district, and Marudi will get one,” he added.
Apart from that, Abang Johari gave assurance that the road from Jalan Marudi to Long Terawan will be completed by 2030.
However, he also emphasises to make it happen, the people must continue to stay united, have new ideas, and have sincere intentions to help each other. — DayakDaily
