KUCHING, Jan 27: Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg hopes that TV3 will provide exposure to local traders throughout the Jom Heboh Carnival: Segulai Sejalai Sarawak 2024.
He commended Media Prima Omnia and Sarawak Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts (MTCP) for bringing not only an entertainment programme suitable for the whole family but also providing a platform for traders to introduce their brands and products to visitors and viewers at the national level.
“Thus, the Sarawak government welcomes the organisation of various interesting activities and special sales at reasonable prices available at the 132 stalls provided at this carnival.
“Through this carnival, many local traders from all over Sarawak can participate and generate their income.
“I really hope that TV3 will give exposure to local traders throughout the organisation of this great carnival,” he said in a speech text read by MTCP Minister Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah during the opening ceremony of the carnival at Petra Jaya Celebration Square here earlier tonight.
Introduced in 2003, this year’s Jom Heboh Carnival marks its grand comeback to Sarawak after it was last organised in 2013.
Midway through the speech, Abdul Karim asked the audience whether they would want the Carnival to be reorganised again in the future, to which they replied with a loud cheer.
“My Ministry will always give our support should TV3 wish to organise Jom Heboh Carnival again in Sarawak in the future, insyaAllah,” he said.
Held from Jan 26 to 28, Jom Heboh Carnival will feature popular artists, namely TujuLoca, Kaka Azraff, Liza Hanim, Nizam Laksamana, Aepul Roza, Baby Shima, Khai Bahar, Hael Hussaini, Indah Ruhaila, Rahmad Mega, and Rem.
