Premier breaks fast with 100 school students, distributes contributions in Petra Jaya

KUCHING, March 16: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg participated in a breaking fast ceremony with 100 primary and secondary school students from the Petra Jaya area.

The event, reported by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, took place at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) building yesterday.

During the ceremony, Abang Johari also presented contributions to the students, courtesy of the Malaysian Government Servants Welfare and Sports Council (Maksak) Women Sarawak, as part of the Maksak Care programme held in conjunction with the Ramadan month this year.

Members of Maksak Women Sarawak’s executive committee also distributed RM100 in cash, bath towels, boxes of dates (kurma), and sarong cloth, all contributed by the Office of the Premier of Sarawak.

Following the presentation ceremony, Abang Johari and other civil servants proceeded to perform the Isyak and Tarawih prayers.

Also in attendance were Abang Johari’s wife, Datuk Amar Juma’aini Tun Tuanku Bujang, Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, along with other distinguished guests. — DayakDaily
