KUCHING, Aug 8: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has declined to disclose details of his recent meeting with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim.
Asked about the purpose of the meeting after the Sarawakku Sayang programme for Sarikei Division in Sarikei today, Abang Johari said the discussion was lengthy.
“I cannot disclose what (was discussed). The meeting was quite long, almost one hour. It was between me and the King,” he said.
He was responding to a reporter who asked about his recent audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong at Istana Pasir Pelangi in Johor Bahru on Aug 5.
According to a post on Sultan Ibrahim’s official Facebook page, the meeting was also attended by Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, and Johor State Financial Officer Datuk Mohd Noorazam Osman.
The meeting was conducted in an atmosphere of mutual respect, underscoring the close relationship and enduring cooperation between the leadership of Sarawak, Johor, and the federal government. — DayakDaily
