During the visit, Abang Johari is scheduled to visit Abu Dhabi’s Khalifa Port and Zayed International Airport later today (May 7).

According to TVS, this working visit reflects Sarawak’s proactive stance in ensuring that the State aligns itself with global development trends, especially in the logistics, port and aviation sectors. It is also in line with the State government’s mission towards transforming Sarawak into a high-income and green economy by 2030.

Khalifa Port is recognised as one of the world’s most advanced ports, leveraging on automation technology and artificial intelligence (AI) for its small port management and operations while Zayed International Airport is known as a world-class airport that is expected to be a model in terms of passenger, cargo and international flight network management.

The visit is also expected to be an important aspect of Sarawak’s efforts to strengthen its domestic and international flight and logistics network, including the operation of the Sarawak government-owned airline AirBorneo in 2026. – DayakDaily
