KANOWIT, May 6: A 76-year-old woman was found injured and unconscious in the back passenger seat after the car she was travelling in crashed into a roadside ditch along Jalan Lukut Penyulau earlier today.
The Kanowit Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) received the emergency call at 3.45pm and promptly dispatched a team to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that a Toyota Vios had veered off the road and landed in a drainage ditch. The driver, a 51-year-old man, was unharmed.
Firefighters provided immediate first aid to the elderly woman, including securing a cervical collar before carefully extricating her from the vehicle using a stretcher.
She was then handed over to paramedics and transported to Kanowit Hospital for further treatment.
The operation concluded at approximately 4.30pm after firefighters ensured the area was safe. — DayakDaily
