KUCHING, Aug 21: A total of 48 premises have had their electric supply cut for illegally operating as online gambling platforms and illegal lottery selling since the first of January 2020 until 21st August 2020 at Padawan area.

“Padawan Police had taken drastic action in fighting the illegal online gambling and illegal lottery selling activity by cutting the electric supply of those illegal premises,” Padawan District Deputy Police Chief, DSP Lim Jaw Shyong said in the press release.

According to Lim, he said that the cutting of electric supply will be continued with the ‘Op Dadu’ raid which will be holding every day. Padawan District police are now discussing with Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) in voiding the premise’s licence if the premises are caught doing illegal activity.

“The suspects who were arrested will also be remanded and will be charged with Prevention of Crime Act (POCA)”, Lim pointed out.

Meanwhile, police had managed to catch the road bully who smashed a car at Arang Road on Aug 2020. The suspect did not plead guilty when he was at the court on 21st August 2020.

“The suspect had even broken a door while he was remanded and the suspect failed to pay RM8,000 of bailing fee for both smashing the car and broken the doorcase,” Lim added.

Lim urged the public not to act blindly or emotionally while driving on the road. The public was also reminded to obey traffic laws and drive responsibly.—DayakDaily
