Post-mortem, DNA test confirm Nur Farah Kartini’s identity, remains to be handed over to family today

KUCHING, July 18: The remains of Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah will be handed over to her family today, as confirmed by Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan.

According to national news agency Bernama, the post-mortem process, including a deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) matching test conducted by the Chemistry Department, confirmed the identity of the remains.

Hussein stated that the completion of the post-mortem process and DNA test confirmed the remains belong to Nur Farah Kartini, allowing for the handover to proceed.

Meanwhile, Mohd Fariza Amir, the victim’s brother, shared that funeral prayers for his sister will be held at the As-Syakirin Mosque in Kampung Tanjung Selangor, Pekan, Pahang.

“Her remains will then be laid to rest at Kampung Nyiur Manis Cemetery in Pekan. More details will be shared later,” he was quoted as saying.

Bernama further reported that a check at Sungai Buloh Hospital’s Forensic Department earlier today confirmed that Nur Farah Kartini’s family arrived at the vicinity at 11.10am.

Nur Farah Kartini was reported missing on July 10 after delivering a rental car to a customer.

Her body was discovered in an oil palm plantation in Kampung Sri Kledang, Hulu Selangor, around 6pm on Monday (July 15).

A 26-year-old man, who is also a policeman stationed in Perak, has since been arrested and remanded for seven days until July 22 to assist in the investigation under Section 302 of the Penal Code. — DayakDaily
