KUCHING, Nov 20: Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) will do a post-mortem on its failure to recapture P209 Julau in the 15th General Election (GE15).
Its deputy info chief Andy Lawrence said the party would do a proper procedure even though it has identified the root cause of its defeat in the parliamentary constituency.
“PRS will do a post-mortem on Julau seat although we already identified the root cause of the failure with the help of intelligence from various agencies and come up with a new strategy to recapture Julau in the next general election,” he said in a statement today.
Their victory has contributed to Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) accumulating total seats of 22 against Pakatan Harapan (PH), which won six seats, Perikatan Nasional (PN) — one seat, and Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) — one seat.
According to unofficial results, the result of the remaining seat for P220 Baram has not been officially announced yet, but the seat is likely to be retained by GPS.
“Most important in this GE15, PRS once again created history where Malaysians and Sarawakians will witness the first Dayak or Iban woman join the Dewan Rakyat,” he added. — DayakDaily
