In a related development, he said, the special investigation team is also currently investigating allegations of defamation against a senior police officer.

Last Monday, a video was uploaded by a Facebook account with the username ‘Ali Hero’.

The video showed a fight involving 20 men who attacked a man outside a food court in Jalan Ulu Sungai Merah on the night of Nov 28.

The post also contained a defamatory statement against a police officer with the rank of deputy police superintendent in Sibu district.

So far, 15 individuals have been arrested in relation to the case.

Police are hunting for the remaining suspects, who are still at large.

The case is being investigated under Section 148 and 500 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1988.
