KUCHING, April 11: A search and rescue (SAR) operation has been activated to locate the man who was feared to have drowned after falling from the Tun Salahuddin Bridge in Petra Jaya here today.

In a statement, Kuching district police chief Supt Merbin Lisa confirmed the case and said that a SAR operation is being carried out by the police, Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the Civil Defence Force, and the Sarawak Rivers Board (SRB).

At the same time, he urged the public not to speculate on the incident. He added that those with information can contact the Bintawa station at 082-335930, the Kuching IPD control centre at 082-24444, or come to the nearest police station. — DayakDaily
