Police seek public assistance to locate Indian man missing from shipyard in Sibu

SIBU, Dec 27: The police are appealing to the public to help locate an Indian man who was reported missing from the shipyard yesterday.

Sibu District Police Chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili said that a missing victim report was lodged on Dec 26, from the man’s employer.

“His employer, a 37-year-old man, said that the victim was found missing at a shipyard in Jalan Ulu Lanang and could not be contacted,” he said.

The police had identified the 22-year-old victim as Saurav Kumar Jha whose thin build stands at 5 feet 6 inches, weighs 65kg and with black skin.

According to Zulkipli, search and rescue (SAR) efforts have been launched since yesterday involving the fire brigade and the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM).
