KUCHING, July 8: An official report has been lodged for investigations at the Gita Police Station today against individuals who have posted what may be seditious and defamatory content against Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib, the wife of Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud.
According to an Astana Negeri official, these postings questioned her status as a native of Sarawak.
“The said postings are deemed to be infringing her privacy, personal rights as well Personal Data Protection Act 2010, as they put out the image of her identity card.
“These postings have a tendency to draw hatred towards the Head of State by attacking Toh Puan Ragad, who has been conferred native status legitimately through her marriage with Tun Taib,” said the official.
He said Sarawakians should respect Raghad as the wife of Tun Taib.
The police report urged relevant authorities to investigate the matter.
“A report will also be made to Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) first thing on Monday morning,” said the official. — DayakDaily
