Police probe death of man in his 60s after alleged fall from Kuching shopping mall parking area

KUCHING, Dec 5: A man in his 60s was found dead after reportedly falling from a shopping mall’s parking area in Kuching at approximately 10.43pm yesterday (Dec 4).

Kuching District Police chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said the police received an emergency call from a member of the public regarding a local Chinese male discovered lying face down and unconscious outside the mall.

Responding swiftly, a team from the Kuching Central Police Station rushed to the scene and found the man unresponsive.

“Medical personnel arrived shortly after and confirmed that the victim had passed away.

“The body was subsequently sent to the Forensic Department of Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for an autopsy,” he said in a statement today.

Police have classified the case as a Sudden Death Report (SDR) and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Authorities have urged anyone who witnessed the event or has relevant information to contact Investigating Officer ASP Marshall Ajin at 012-8088195, the Kuching Central Police Station at 010-5065654, or visit the nearest police station.
