Police permit remains mandatory for inter-district travel

KUCHING, Sept 17: A police permit to cross any district in Sarawak remains a mandatory requirement.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a its daily Covid-19 update statement said although individuals wanting to travel inter-district are no longer required to undergo Covid-19 rT-PCR and RTK-Antigen tests, they must obtain police permission to travel.

The decision comes into force from tomorrow (Sept 18) onwards.

Meanwhile, the police have issued 24 compounds in Sarawak with Kuching topping the list with 19, followed by Miri (3) and Bintulu (2).

Twelve compounds were issued to individuals who failed to scan their MySejahtera or register their particulars before entering a premise; nine for being in public places after 12 midnight; and three for not practicing physical distancing and conducting activities under the ‘negative list’. — DayakDaily
