KUCHING, April 28: No untoward incidents have been reported at all nomination centers in the state today.

Sarawak police commissioner Datuk Azman Yusof said in a press statement that the whole nomination process went smoothly without any untoward cases recorded.

From April 7 to to-date, police have approved and issued a total of 36 permits to political parties.

Padawan and Sibu recorded nine permits each, Kuching (7), Sri Aman (4), two each for Lawas and Dalat, and one each for Kapit, Mukah and Saratok.

All permits were approved by the respective district police chief.

Azman also said all candidates must apply for proper permits before they can hold their talks (‘ceramah’).

All political parties have until 11.59pm on May 8 to hold their ‘ceramah’ before Malaysians go to the polls on May 9 for the 14th General Election. — DayakDaily
