SIBU, May 5: A jobless man was arrested for possessing illegal fireworks yesterday.
Sibu district police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the arrest of the 33-year-old man was made at about 2.30pm at a house in Jalan Rambutan.
“The police team, following a search on the house, seized three fireworks (mercun kelapa) and eight laptop computers of various models,” he said.
He said the suspect had 12 previous records for criminal cases.
The case is being investigated under Section 8 of the Explosives Act 1957. — DayakDaily
