Police issue 51 compounds for SOPs violations in 5 districts

KUCHING, May 10: A total of 51 compounds have been issued by the police in five districts in the State for various Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) violations.

State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement today, said the compounds are being issued in Kuching (38), Serian (6), Bau (3), Dalat (2) and Bintulu (2), bringing the total amount of compounds issued by the police since March 18, 2021 to 6,442 compounds.

“Among the offences committed are failure to practice physical distancing (40), operating beyond the time limit (7), not wearing face mask (3) and failure to provide reasonable reason for being outside of their house during the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) period (1),” it said.


Meanwhile, SDMC noted the Ministry of Local Government and Housing through its local authority (PBT) has also issued a total of 42 compounds for various SOP violations throughout the State.

According to the statement, not updating the registration book accounted for the most compound issued the a total of 27 compounds, followed by not wearing face mask (7), not registering using MySejahtera application or log book (3), failure to practice physical distancing (2), not providing hand sanitiser (1), not scanning for body temperature (1), operating beyond the time limit (1) and operating without permit (1).

“This brings the total number of compounds issued by the PBT since Feb 1, 2021 to 358 compounds,” the statement read. — DayakDaily
