Police investigating desecration of 28 graves at Pulau Keladi cemetery in Sibu

Police discovered that a total of 28 graves at the cemetery had been raided.

SIBU, April 13: A total of 28 graves at Pulau Keladi cemetery have been found desecrated.

Sibu district police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili said today that the police had on April 7 received a report lodged by the Tuai Rumah of the Tanjung Latap longhouse that Iban graves at the cemetery had been raided.

“A police team rushed to the scene to conduct an investigation. It was found that 28 graves have been desecrated,” he said.


The police, he said, are looking for the suspect(s) to assist in the investigation under Section 297 of the Penal Code.
