Police hunting 31yo suspect involved in armed robbery in Miri

KUCHING, Dec 12: Police are searching for a 31-year-old suspect linked to an armed robbery in Miri, according to a report by TV Sarawak (TVS).

Miri district police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said a report has been made regarding the incident and an investigation is underway under Section 392 of the Penal Code.

He said initial investigations found that the complainant, who was manning the payment counter at a retail business premises near Simpang Ngu in Batu Niah, was approached by a suspect armed with a machete, who subsequently demanded cash from the complainant.

“Based on closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage, it is believed that the suspect is a man, and he has been identified,” he said in a statement today.

He also called for anyone who have any information regarding the incident to assist in the investigation by coming forward to the nearest police station to calling 085-433730. — DayakDaily
