KUCHING, June 14: Police have arrested members of ‘Geng Piji,’ a gang believed to be involved in house break-ins, car and cable thefts, and robberies in Taman Long Seng, Kuching, last month.

Kuching district police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah stated today that the arrest of a 26-year-old-male suspect by the Kuching district police Counter Aggressive Team (CAT) on May 23 at Jalan Sultan Tengah led to the capture of other gang members.

“Acting on that information, police managed to arrest 11 other members of Geng Piji, all local men aged between 20 and 30 years old,” said Ahsmon.

“With these arrests, police have solved a total of nine house break-in cases, a car theft case, a cable theft case, and two robbery cases in the Kuching area.”

He added that 10 of the gang members have been convicted in court since June 6, facing multiple charges related to property crimes, violence, and drugs. — DayakDaily
