MIRI, March 3: A police operation by the Miri District Commercial Crime Investigation Department and the Narcotics Crime Investigation Division led to the arrest of three local men and the seizure of multiple exhibits.
The operation, conducted at approximately 6.15pm last Saturday (March 1) in the Jalan Alpinia Jee Foh 3 area of Taman MDL Miri, resulted in the confiscation of various items linked to alleged fraudulent activities.
Among the seized items were multiple ATM cards, mobile phones, a shoulder bag, and cash totaling RM28,677.
Miri District Police Chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu confirmed that the three suspects, aged in their 20s and 30s, have been remanded for three days to assist in investigations.
The case is being investigated under Section 420 of the Penal Code, which carries a penalty of imprisonment for not less than one year and up to ten years, along with whipping and a fine upon conviction. — DayakDaily
