MIRI, Oct 8: A 28-year-old man brandishing a billhook lashed out at his family on Sunday evening at a house in Jalan Anting 1, Pujut Corner here.
During the incident which took place around 6pm, the suspect’s family members fled the house immediately after the suspect took out the blade and threatened to hurt them.
No one was injured in the incident.
Two Mobile Police Vehicle (MPV) units were immediately mobilised to the scene after receiving a call on the incident at 6.30pm. The police personnel seized the weapon and detained the suspect for further questioning.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect had two previous criminal records under Section 448 of the Penal Code for house trespassing and drug offences.
The case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation. — DayakDaily
