KUCHING, Aug 25: The son of a former national leader has been arrested after police uncovered drugs in his vehicle during a traffic stop on the Sprint Highway near the Damansara Toll Plaza in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, on Aug 23.
Bernama reported that Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar confirmed the arrest of the suspect, a man in his 20s.
According to police, the man was spotted driving in reverse at high speed in a suspicious manner at KM0.6 of the highway before officers intervened.
A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a small quantity of heroin and several drug-related items believed to be for consumption.
The suspect was then taken to the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division at the Petaling Jaya district police headquarters for further investigation.
