KUCHING, April 1: A total of 781 development projects worth RM4.5 billion has been approved for implementation in Sarawak under the First Rolling Plan of the 12th Malaysia Plan (RP1 12MP) for 2021.
Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin emphasised that the federal government has been committed in driving the socio-economic development in each state in Malaysia with focus also given to Sarawak over the past year.
“What is important (is) to ensure that these projects which have been listed and approved with allocations should be implemented as soon as possible. That we will make sure it will happen.
“I was given a brief of the long list of projects that are important for Sarawak. I will give the support in whatever manner (possible) so that these projects will be implemented successfully,” he gave assurance during the Shared Prosperity Vision 2030 Townhall Session held at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) here today.
He noted that major development projects under implementation in Sarawak include the Pan Borneo Highway, upgrading of Mukah Airport and the first phase of Tanjung Manis Halal Hub.
Other than that, the social projects like Rumah Mesra Rakyat (RMR) Sarawak programme and the constructions of hospitals in Petra Jaya, Sri Aman and Lawas are also being carried out aggressively.
“These projects will not only contribute to increasing economic activities but to ensure the well-being of the people in Sarawak,” he added.
Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg and other State Cabinet leaders were also present. — DayakDaily
