KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 16: All National Service Training Programme 3.0 (PLKN 3.0) camps will be equipped with 24-hour CCTV cameras to prevent bullying incidents.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin today announced that 32 wardens will be on duty at all times to ensure security and safety within the camps.
“In addition, the uniform recruitment of participants will help minimise the senior-junior culture, which is often a contributing factor to bullying.
“PLKN 3.0 participants will begin their training at the same time, with no senior-junior distinctions, ensuring there are no opportunities for a bullying culture to develop,” he said, according to a report by TVS.
Khaled also shared that the government will allocate RM64 per day for each participant, covering meals, accommodation, and other basic needs throughout the program.
“The program will begin in January with 200 participants in the first intake, and will increase to 500 participants in the second phase,” he added.
In response to a question by Senator Roderick Wong in the Dewan Negara session regarding recruitment criteria, Khaled clarified that participants will be selected from 18-year-old Malaysian teenagers.
“Priority will be given to students who have previously participated in school cadet activities,” he said. –DayakDaily
