KUCHING, Dec 28: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Sarawak is willing to look into and consider should there be a request from Bersatu Sarawak to contest in seats under the party in the state in the upcoming state election.

PKR Sarawak chairman Baru Bian, however, said that there was no strong indication on the matter yet from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).

“As far as we are concerned, there is no strong indication on certain areas that they insist on (or intend to stand in).

“But as I have said, we will look at any possibilities of requests from them (Bersatu),” he told a press conference regarding the release ‘Bungai Ngerembai’ Iban film held at a restaurant here today.

On the upcoming state election which will be due in 2021, Baru, who is also Minister of Works, emphasised that PKR Sarawak has always been ready and prepared for the election since last year.

“We all know the talks that some say the election can be (called) in April (next year), some say in August or September and somebody said it could be in 2021.

“Not withstanding the news we hear, as for as PH is concerned, we have been fully prepared since last year,” he said.

“We (PKR Sarawak) have identified some candidates in certain areas and in fact, we have already instructed and given directive to them to move on the ground. We have to gear up a bit in 2020,” he added.— DayakDaily
