KUCHING, Dec 3: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Sarawak’s Women Wing chief Victoria Musa is confident that the new Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek will be able to close the gap in education and dilapidated school issues in Sabah and Sarawak.

She noted that as of July this year, the Ministry of Education (MoE) has identified a total of 351 dilapidated schools in Sarawak.

“Of the total, 107 schools are graded at Level 7 which refers to buildings that are not safe with validation from the Public Works Department (JKR).

“Meanwhile, 244 others are graded at Level 6 which refers to buildings that are not safe with validation from the District Education Office or the State Education Department,” she said in a statement today.

She also hoped that the new Education Minister will give emphasis and best solutions to problems involving access to education faced by the students, especially those in the rural areas. – DayakDaily
