KUCHING, July 29: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) central is demanding RM10 million from Selangau MP Baru Bian, Seratok MP Ali Biju and Puncak Borneo MP Willie Mongin and other former PKR MPs who defected from the party.
This is confirmed by PKR Sarawak chief Larry Sng who held that this was what those who had defected to other parties deserved.
“They deserved what they are getting,” Sng told DayakDaily after confirming the latest action taken by party central against those who left and joined other parties.
Sng who is Julau MP said when these MPs stood under PKR tickets to contest in the last parliamentary election, they agreed to pay such an amount in the case of defection.
“The party central is now handling the issue. Party lawyers will take the necessary action to inform all the MPs who defected from the party,” said Sng.
Apart from Baru, Ali and Willie, all former PKR parliamentarians who had defected and joint other parties are expected to receive the letter of demand from PKR legal representatives.
Baru who was formerly PKR Sarawak chief left PKR following the Sheraton Move which later caused the change of government from Pakatan Harapan to Perikatan Nasional headed by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
After the change of government, Baru left PKR and had recently joint Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB).
As for Ali and Willie who had decided to stick with former PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali, even though they are party less, Sng confirmed that they will both receive the letter of demand from the lawyers. — DayakDaily
