KUCHING, July 29: The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) today carried out decontamination works at two locations where there were Covid-19 cases detected.

Bomba assistant director (operations) Tiong Ling Hii revealed the disinfection was carried out at Satok Market, Jalan Matang and the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) Muara Tebas base as one of many measures to curb the spread of the disease.

The operation at Satok Market involved 22 firefighters led by operations officer John Sagun Francis.


Sanitisation works at the community market started at 9.10am, covering a total of 48,562 square metres of the premises.

Over at MMEA Muara Tebas, seven firefighters led by Zone 1 Sarawak Bomba officer Nazari Harun started sanitation works at 9am.

Firefighters decontaminated one ship from MMEA and two Vietnamese vessels.
